Most parents have approached me to work with their child because they have not been getting the results they desire when it comes to their child’s hockey development. Their son or daughter has usually been playing for a couple of years and have attended multiple “power skating” clinics, but despite all the money they have spent they are not seeing steady improvement. The reason I believe a player is not improving, is that there is not enough individual correction in team practices and clinics. This is why we do an evaluation. An evaluation identifies specific areas a player needs to work on. We look at all hockey skills including skating, shooting, and training mindset. After the evaluation process, parents receive a write-up outlining the skill areas that I believe their child needs to improve. There is also a phone conference to review the results and online training recommendations.
